Tales of Interest
Canberra harpist Laura has formed Vermilion Music. ‘I enjoy dressing up and stepping out of my shoes. So if you are considering a conceptualised wedding, shindigs, or anything else imaginable, do discuss it with me and I will do my best to fit in to my surroundings.’
(Picture: A photograph of a woman with dark hair and pale skin, wearing a very long dark skirt, a brown waistcoat with a gold pocket watch and chain, a pale gold short sleeved blouse and a locket necklace. She is standing in front of her large harp, which is dark brown and elaborately carved, and in around her are victorian style stained-glass lamps, a table with books, and brocade-looking drapes and carpet.)

See The Star Spangled Banner played on an electric harp, Hendrix-style, by Deborah Henson Conant. It’s pretty awesome.
Alice Giles out on the ice at Davis Station, Antarctica, playing the harp.
(How can a harp survive Antarctic conditions? Needs to be an Andrew Thom harp!)
Alice Giles performing some harp pieces on the bridge of the Aurora as they travel to Mawson Station in the Australian Antarctic Territory. Lots more about this trip on Alice’s blog, Alice in Antarctica.
